Job description

Overview

1932 Capital Management, Inc. is a single-family office (“FO”) that provides private wealth management services to the Family. The FO’s services are bespoke and demand the highest levels of discretion and attention to detail.

The FO is seeking an Analyst who will report directly to the Controller of the Family Office and support accounting, investment operations, and data management functions. The FO is young and continually evolving, providing a great opportunity for someone who likes taking on new challenges, building efficiencies with AI tools, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL CLOSE
  • Assist in the monthly close process for private funds and foundations, including bank reconciliations, categorization, and vendor payment workflows.
  • Calculate and validate the net asset value (NAV) of investment partnerships, including tracking of partnership allocations.
  • Responsible for accounts payable and the associated recording of expenses.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining customized monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, collaborating with the FO team to determine what information is most useful and how best to present it.
INVESTMENT OPERATIONS
  • Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly investment transactions and investment accounts, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with family investments, including capital calls and related reporting.
  • Assist with the completion of investment subscription documents for alternative investments.
  • Process vendor bills and payment approvals, and assist with cash management, including outgoing wire transfers.
DATA MANAGEMENT & INTEGRITY
  • Maintain portfolio aggregation systems across family entities — including individuals, trusts, foundations, and investment partnerships — with at least weekly cash reconciliations and monthly consolidated general ledger closings.
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity within the portfolio accounting system (e.g., Addepar), ensuring positions, transactions, and balances remain accurate and complete.
  • Assist with maintaining the alternative investment data and document management system.
  • Design and maintain automated workflows using AI tools to reconcile data, process transactions, and create efficiencies that reduce manual work.
VENDOR & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate and interact with banks, financial institutions, and outside advisors.
  • Work cooperatively with external service providers and vendors to ensure timely, accurate processing and resolution of issues.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete special projects as directed by senior team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ accounting or finance experience. Family office, financial services, fund administration, private wealth industry, or public accounting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with partnership accounting and investments preferred.
  • Experience with Addepar or similar portfolio accounting/aggregation platforms a plus.
  • Comfortable using AI tools and related technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fluid environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with external service providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft suite of products.
