Job summary

A consulting firm in Illinois is seeking a professional to manage client relationships and oversee their accounting processes. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of CAS/consulting clients.
  • Overseeing clients' monthly and annual accounting processes.
  • Providing KPI dashboards and financial insights.
  • Providing meaningful financial insights, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses to help clients make strategic decisions
  • Acting as a fractional CFO by supporting forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial modeling
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting
  • Coordinating with tax and audit teams to ensure integrated, seamless client service
  • Leading and mentoring junior CAS/consulting staff
  • Managing workflow, deadlines, and client expectations while maintaining high service standards

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and advising on bookkeeping, general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, payroll and financial clean-up
  • Providing meaningful financial insights, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses to help clients make strategic decisions
  • Acting as a fractional CFO by supporting forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial modeling
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting

Job Qualifications
  • 2–10+ years of experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, consulting, or controllership roles
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger operations
  • Experience advising small to mid-sized businesses; fractional CFO experience a plus
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and prioritize deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, judgment, and attention to detail
