Ritchie Engineering Co., Inc. in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team. This full-time on-site role reports to the Controller and supports month-end close, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and internal control activities.

You will work with U.S. GAAP, maintain fixed assets and capital expenditures, and assist with external audits. A bachelor’s degree and ERP experience are required, with strong Excel and communication skills desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a corporate ERP environment.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• Highly organized, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis and schedules.
• Record transactions in the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate items, escalating as needed.
• Maintain capital expenditure schedules and fixed asset listings, including depreciation.
• Assist in maintaining accuracy of data within Syteline ERP.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external audit requests.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation per record-retention requirements.
• Other duties, including training others on processes.

Compensation

• As you evaluate your career options, we recognize that salary is a key consideration. For this role, the pay range is $70,000-85,000, with individual compensation determined by your unique skills, experience level, and other relevant factors

Schedule:

• E njoy a 4-day work week, 10-hours a day (Monday–Thursday Between 6:00am and 6:00pm).
  • Additional hours may be required during busier times

What You Will be Doing:

The Staff Accountant supports accurate and timely financial reporting through general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and internal control activities. The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and contributes to month-end closing, audit support, process improvement, and the maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and supporting schedules
• Record assigned financial transactions accurately and promptly in the general ledger in accordance with U.S. GAAP and established company policies
• Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure items are resolved or appropriately escalated
• Maintain capital expenditure schedules and fixed asset listing, including progress payments, asset placement, updates, and depreciation.
• Assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data within Syteline ERP
• Prepare schedules and support documentation for external audit requests
• Maintain organized and complete accounting documentation in accordance with company record-retention requirements
• Other duties as assigned, including training others on known processes

What You Will Bring:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, ore related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required in a corporate ERP environment
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Proficient in Excel
• Proficiency in reading and writing in English
• Highly organized, self-motivated and can work independently
• Must be highly self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as well as excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred:

• Syteline ERP experience
• Manufacturing accounting experience
