Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the school’s literacy and/or mathematics intervention program
• Teach targeted literacy and/or mathematics intervention to identified small groups
• Assist teachers with the collection of data; interpret the data and share analysis with appropriate staff
• Collaborate with teachers to identify literacy/mathematics needs, set goals, and problem-solve to improve student growth
• Review student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate literacy/mathematics interventions
• Attend professional development to enhance pedagogy and content knowledge in literacy/mathematics
• Maintain and submit accurate progress records for all students
• Perform other duties related to literacy and/or mathematics as assigned by supervisor

Education

Alabama Teacher’s Certification

Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Five years of classroom experience

Essential Duties

• Coordinate and facilitate the school’s literacy and/or mathematics intervention program
• Teach targeted literacy and/or mathematics intervention to identified small groups
• Assist teachers with the collection of data. Interprets the data and shares the analysis with the appropriate staff members
• Collaborates with teachers to identify the literacy and/or mathematics needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students in literacy and/or mathematics
• Review student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate literacy and/or mathematics intervention
• Attend professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content, especially literacy and/or mathematics
• Maintain and submit accurate and up-to-date management records of all students’ progress
• Perform other duties related to literacy and/or mathematics as assigned by supervisor

SPECIAL NOTE: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

SPECIAL NOTE: For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
