Edelman Smithfield, a global financial communications firm, seeks an Account Supervisor to lead client service, media relations, and strategic communications for financial services accounts. You’ll manage teams, craft messaging, and drive high-impact campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, communications, or related field.
• At least 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, financial services, public relations, or public affairs, preferably in an agency setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategies for financial services clients, from ideation to execution.
• Serve as day-to-day lead on teams and client contact, with focus on timeliness, quality, and budget adherence.
• Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, stakeholders, and industry landscapes to provide strategic recommendations.
• Support senior leadership in identifying and mitigating challenges, creating efficiencies and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Develop media engagement strategies and maintain relationships with financial journalists, producers, and influencers.
• Craft thought leadership content including op-eds, speeches, corporate messaging, and media materials.
• Translate complex financial topics into clear narratives for media and investors.
• Oversee junior team members, providing mentorship and feedback.
• Contribute to new business efforts, including proposal development and deskside research.

TheRole

We areseekinga strategic, detail-oriented, andproactive Account Supervisor with experience infinancialservicescommunications to join our team. Thisperson will play a critical role in client service, project execution, media relations, and strategic communications, ensuring high-impact results for ourclients.

Thisindividual should have strong relationships with key reporters, a deep understanding of industry dynamics, and a natural curiosity about the stakeholders and evolving landscape ofprivate capital firms, hedge funds, assetand wealthmanagers, investment andcommercial banks, fintech companies, real estate investors, insurers and other institutional market participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead communications strategies forfinancial servicesclients,from ideation to execution.

• Translate complex financial and regulatory topics into clear, compelling narratives for media, investors, and other key stakeholders.

• Oversee the work of junior team members, providing mentorship, feedback, and guidance.

• Contribute to new businessefforts, supporting proposal development, pitch preparation, anddesksideresearch.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, journalism, communications, ora relatedfield.

• At least4+ years of experience in corporate communications, financial services, public relations, or public affairs, preferably in anagency setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience infinancial communications, with astrong understanding offinancial institutions, the financial services industrylandscapeand key stakeholder audiences.

• Strong media relationsexpertise, with established journalist relationships anda demonstratedability to secure high-impact media coverage.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop strategic messaging and thought leadership content.

• Strong project management skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset.

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

$83,000 - $110,000 per year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
