We are looking for a communications strategist with life science PR agency experience to join our client service team as an Account Supervisor. This position can be located remotely or based out of our office in Conshohocken, PA.

Position Summary

The Account Supervisor will serve as day-to-day client contact across workstreams and partner with account leads and specialty groups to address client needs quickly, thoughtfully and effectively. The Account Supervisor will play a critical role in creation of communications plans and goals and ensure tactical programs are carried out that track toward them.

Agency experience within the biotech / health science communications industry as well experience with client management, operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, timeline and budgeting is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support account Team Leads to drive the successful implementation of branding and strategic communications programs on behalf of clients
  • Oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline, and budget adherence
  • Manage execution and oversee day-to-day account activities, including materials development, media activities, social media, branding and website deliverables, scientific illustrations and other visual content
  • Manage overall project timelines and deadlines; flag potential issues for Team Lead
  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact on specific projects, addressing client issues in a thoughtful and effective manner
  • Anticipate client needs, identify opportunities, provide actionable recommendations to proactively counsel clients under supervision of senior counselors
  • Proactively manage and mentor junior staff by motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback to support their professional development
  • Oversee and when needed create high quality internal and external communications content including press releases, messaging, website and social media content, blog articles, backgrounders, and presentations
  • Review and edit client emails, recommendation memos, results reports, and other materials as needed
  • Manage client and account team to ensure completion of strategy and program goals
  • Lead portions of both internal and external client calls
  • Foster and manage the relationships with designers, medical illustration, freelances and Team Leads to bring science stories to life visually
  • Develop understanding of the new and organic business development process, and mentor leads to develop skills these skills
  • Continue development of knowledge of clients and industry; growth and strengthen leadership skills
  • May assist with media related functions to include: draft media strategies, media lists, and media pitches; schedule media pitches and interviews; develop backgrounders for media interviewing and arrange interviews; draft and/or revise press releases to make the media aware of announcements and achievements; write or assist with the process of completing reporters’ information requests; read and digest all new and traditional media coverage of client companies; partner with senior management to develop creative strategy and create engaging content to disseminate
  • In alignment with our collaborative work environment, there may be other job functions that this role is asked to execute to support team members and the firm overall

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, or equivalent related experience

Years of Experience

  • 5+ years of healthcare PR agency experience, specifically in science or healthcare required
  • Agency / Biotech / Health Science Communications industry experience required

Required Skills

  • Passion for work in the biotech, health tech or science industries with an innate curiosity about science, technology and the world around you
  • Demonstrated ability to “think big” developing new ideas to deliver and delight both our clients and colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail while managing projects for multiple accounts with tight deadlines
  • Experience in corporate communications, science communications, and/or investor relations a plus
  • Excellent written and professional interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects with a high attention to detail
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Experience with timekeeping and utilization platforms such a Workfront
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and Google applications; comfortable using various business productivity apps (Spaces, Google Meet, Zoom)
