Job summary

Alegis, A MedData Company located in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Billing Specialist to contact patients and insurance companies to facilitate payment processes. The role requires strong communication and multitasking skills, as well as fluency in both English and Spanish.

The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance claims and collections, a high school diploma, and be computer savvy. This hourly, non-exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid vacation, and a 401K plan.

Qualifications

• Must be computer savvy with good typing speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Contacting and screening patients, accident insurance adjustors, attorneys, etc. and ensuring all processes and procedures are followed in an effort to obtain payment on behalf of our clients
• Meeting deadlines and completing assigned tasks timely and efficiently.
• Researching and contacting local records departments for the purposes of obtaining incident/accident reports
• Mailing and faxing documents needed in an effort to obtain payment on behalf of our client
• Heavy phone work and system updating. Will be responsible for working off of multiple systems and multitasking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Bilingual English and Spanish REQUIRED
• Experience in insurance claims, collections and/or accident litigation, hospital business office or law firm strongly preferred
• Computer savvy, 40 wpm, 10-key by touch, Microsoft Office, internet and ability to quickly learn new systems
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, including dealing with patients, clients, insurance companies, etc.
• Must be prompt and presentable
• Reliable means of transportation
• Ability to work 8a-5p Monday through Friday
