Job summary

A healthcare revenues firm is seeking a claims specialist to manage and resolve unresolved claims efficiently. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of office experience with strong problem-solving and research skills. Key responsibilities include contacting payers to follow up on claim statuses and identifying payment issues. Qualifications

• 2+ years of office experience with emphasis on problem solving and research.
• Medical billing experience is helpful.
• Ability to summarize important details in account notes.
• 2+ years Office experience in which problem solving and research were major keys to success. Prior computer experience is required.
• Ability to completely and concisely summarize important details in account notes and excellent verbal communication skills are a must.

Job Description

• Following up on unresolved claims.
• Make phone calls and use insurance company websites to check on claim status.
• Identify why payment has not been received from the payer or why it has been denied/underpaid by the payer.
• Take appropriate actions to resolve issues in a way that results in payment and/or complete closure of insurance balance.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Medical billing experience is helpful.
• Problem solving, research, organization, detail oriented, flexibility to work on competing priorities
• Able to work independently, identify patterns, make informed decisions, correctly identifying root causes to determine appropriate actions and outcomes
• 2+ years Office experience in which problem solving and research were major keys to success. Prior computer experience is required.
• Ability to completely and concisely summarize important details in account notes and excellent verbal communication skills are a must.
