Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks an Account Manager to cultivate long‑term relationships with key clients in our Specialty Equipment division. The role emphasizes client retention, service delivery, and strategic partnerships over sales quotas.

This on‑site role requires four days in the office with one day remote; travel 25–35% across the US and Canada. Collaboration with internal teams—Business Development, Marketing, Underwriting, Accounting and Claims—drives client success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree generally preferred.
  • 3–6 years of Account / Relationship Management experience.
  • Finance, Leasing, or Commercial Insurance experience a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 25–35% across the US and Canada.

The job title and salary will be dependent upon the successful applicants' level of experience. Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on‑site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

Your Role: Account Manager

We are seeking a motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who has a proven track record in client retention, strategic account management, and portfolio growth. While this Account Manager role involves building strong client relationships and ensuring high levels of service delivery, it does not include cold calling, prospecting, or selling products/services. The focus is on client retention, satisfaction, and operational support, rather than revenue generation or sales quotas.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Establish and build strategic relationships with key client stakeholders across a variety of accounts from transactional to moderately complex, ensuring engagement at both executive and operational levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive account retention and expansion, fostering trust-based strategic partnerships.
  • Enhance client satisfaction by proactively aligning evolving business needs with GAI’s products and services, delivering measurable value.
  • Oversee the efficient implementation of products and services, ensuring timely delivery while managing risks, scope, and budget expectations.
  • Effectively conducts training sessions to enhance awareness of GAI’s products and services, emphasizing the value they deliver to our client’s business and their customers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including Business Development, Marketing, Underwriting, Accounting, and Claims—to effectively address account-related concerns and drive client success.
  • Compile, analyze and present data insights on operational efficiency, performance trends and account growth, providing recommendations that strengthen relationships and optimize client accounts.
  • Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with clients and internal teams, ensuring documentation and alignment across all initiatives

Job Qualifications
