The Role

We are seeking an Account Manager, Point of Care/Molecular for Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. This front-line, customer-facing role is responsible for driving sales and growth of QuidelOrtho's Point of Care (POC), Sofia, Triage, and Molecular (MDx) product lines. The position manages a geographic territory or a portfolio of accounts, serving as the primary contact for customers. Key duties include achieving sales targets, increasing assay and reagent utilization, and ensuring customer retention. The role requires a consultative, value-driven sales approach and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions. Success is measured by meeting revenue and profitability goals while providing an excellent customer experience.

This is a field-based sales position supporting the specified states.

The Responsibilities
  1. Drive sales for POC, MDx, and Triage products within the assigned territory or accounts, meeting revenue targets.
  2. Create value for customers beyond features and price, expanding the POC product menu through solutions that meet customer needs.
  3. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention by executing touchpoint plans, managing territory, resolving issues, and defending against competitors.
  4. Build strong relationships with distribution partners to enhance sales revenue and profitability.
  5. Provide accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and updates via CRM; manage the sales pipeline effectively.
  6. Represent QuidelOrtho at trade shows and professional meetings.
  7. Provide or facilitate training on QuidelOrtho POC, Triage, and MDx products for customers and distributors.
  8. Collaborate with sales teams to expand product menu and execute IDN strategies.
  9. Meet or exceed weekly touchpoints.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
The Individual

Candidates must meet customer credentialing requirements, including immunizations, and the company provides accommodations as required by law.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare sales experience, with knowledge of B2B and distribution sales.
  • Experience in medical device, life sciences, or diagnostics sales.
  • Strong strategic marketing, consultation, and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to analyze financial data.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with digital sales assets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to travel up to 70% domestically.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years healthcare sales experience.
  • Experience with hospital, physician office, distributor sales, or national accounts.
  • Sales development training and proven success in account management and customer retention.
Key Working Relationships
  • Customers: Main contact for existing POC/Triage/MDx clients.
  • Field Sales: Collaborate on opportunities and account strategies.
  • Technical Specialists: Coordinate technical support and implementations.
  • Distribution Partners: Support customer purchasing through channels.
  • Marketing & Enablement: Partner on marketing initiatives and performance metrics.
  • Management: Interact with leadership to achieve corporate goals.
The Work Environment

Primarily outside sales; requires discipline and organizational skills for autonomous work in a home office.

The Physical Demands

Travel up to 70%, valid driver’s license, own vehicle, ability to lift 25 pounds, and perform typical physical activities associated with travel and field work.

Salary Transparency

The salary range is $80,000 to $100,000, plus incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
