The Role

We are seeking a Account Manager, Point of Care/Molecular to cover Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. This front-line, customer-facing role is responsible for driving sales of QuidelOrtho's Point of Care (POC) products, including Sofia, Triage, and Molecular (MDx). The Account Manager manages a geographic territory or a portfolio of accounts, serving as the primary contact for customers. Responsibilities include achieving sales targets, expanding assay and reagent use, and maintaining customer relationships. The role requires a consultative sales approach and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions. Success is measured by revenue, profitability, and customer experience. This is a field-based position supporting the specified states.

The Responsibilities

  1. Drive sales for all POC, MDx, and Triage products within the assigned territory or accounts, meeting revenue targets.
  2. Expand the POC business by creating value beyond features and price, offering solutions tailored to customer needs.
  3. Maximize customer retention through satisfaction, regular contact, and proactive problem resolution, while defending against competitors.
  4. Build strong relationships with distribution partners to enhance sales and profitability.
  5. Provide accurate sales forecasts and activity reports via CRM; manage the sales pipeline effectively.
  6. Represent QuidelOrtho at trade shows and professional meetings.
  7. Provide or facilitate product training for customers and distributors as needed.
  8. Collaborate with sales and other teams to expand product menu and execute IDN strategies.
  9. Meet or exceed weekly touchpoint goals.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare sales experience, with knowledge of B2B and distribution sales
  • Experience in medical device, life science, or diagnostics sales
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and consultative skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Business acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Entry-level management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital selling tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work under supervision
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically

Preferred:

  • 5+ years healthcare sales experience, preferably with hospital or physician office sales
  • Experience with distributor or national accounts
  • Sales development training or proven track record in account management

Key Relationships

  • Customers: Main point of contact for existing clients
  • Field Sales: Collaborate on opportunities and strategies
  • Technical Specialists: Coordinate technical support and implementations
  • Distribution Partners: Support purchasing through distributors
  • Marketing & Enablement: Partner on initiatives and performance metrics
  • Management: Interact with leadership to achieve goals

The Work Environment

Primarily outside sales, requiring discipline and organization to work autonomously from a home office.

The Physical Demands

Travel up to 70%, valid driver's license, own vehicle, ability to lift 25 pounds, and meet vision and physical requirements for travel and customer interaction.

Salary Transparency

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 plus incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Compensation depends on experience and other factors.
