Job summary

VSSI Staffing Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Account Manager for our manufacturing operations. You will be the primary liaison for key customer accounts, manage orders, coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams, and drive growth through upsell opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in account management or sales support in manufacturing.

  • ERP/MRP systems experience and accuracy in ERP data.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for assigned customer accounts and build long-term relationships.
  • Oversee orders, communicate lead times and delivery schedules, and coordinate with internal teams.
  • Prepare quotes, pricing updates, and contract renewals; monitor margins and sales trends.
  • Identify upsell opportunities and support forecasting and demand planning.
  • Ensure quality resolutions and cross-functional issue handling; provide regular updates to leadership.

Account Manager - Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to serve as the primary liaison between our manufacturing operation and customers. This role is responsible for managing key accounts, ensuring smooth order execution, maintaining strong customer relationships, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Relations:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Understand customer needs, product requirements, and business cycles.
  • Conduct account reviews and identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage escalations and coordinate internal responses.
Order & Project Coordination:
  • Oversee order status updates and customer communication.
  • Communicate lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules accurately.
  • Coordinate with production planning, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Track open orders, backlogs, and delivery performance.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes.
Commercial & Strategic Support:
  • Prepare quotes, pricing updates, and contract renewals.
  • Monitor account performance, sales trends, and margins.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support forecasting and demand planning activities.
  • Participate in customer meetings, audits, and business reviews.
Quality & Issue Resolution:
  • Communicate quality concerns and resolutions promptly.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve customer satisfaction and prevent recurring issues.
Reporting & Metrics:
  • Maintain accurate ERP account data.
  • Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular account updates and risk reports to leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3-5 years of account management, customer service, or sales support experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or technical environments.
  • Understanding of production workflows, lead times, and order management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • ERP/MRP system experience (JobBOSS, Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other QMS systems.
  • Background in machining, fabrication, assembly, or custom manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with EDI systems, customer portals, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting engineering changes or product launches.
