About the Role

Counterintuity, a marketing agency dedicated to helping nonprofits achieve their mission, is seeking a highly organized and client-focused, Los Angeles-based Account Manager to join our agency team. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking, relationship management, and campaign execution - serving as the primary liaison between our agency and its clients while ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and delivery across every account.

Because this role is dedicated entirely to supporting our nonprofit client roster, compensation for this position is benchmarked to nonprofit-sector marketing and account management roles rather than traditional commercial agency pay scales - reflecting both the mission-driven nature of the work and the realities of nonprofit client budgets.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As an Account Manager at our agency, you will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients — keeping them happy, aligned, and confident in our work.
  • Managing select integrated digital marketing campaigns across content strategy, social media, and search marketing.
  • Optimizing campaign performance and pushing for the best possible client outcomes.
  • Overseeing timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and coordinating closely with the production team to keep work on track and on budget.
  • Coordinating with the production team, assigning and QAing work precisely, and achieving results on time and on budget.
  • Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities within your accounts.
  • Supporting the Director of Client Services and staying current on industry trends and best practices.
  • Staying informed on industry trends and best practices to provide clients with innovative marketing solutions.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Time Allocation
Client Communication and Strategy (50%)
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring a strong relationship and high satisfaction levels.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to align campaigns with client business goals.
  • Proactively manage expectations, addressing challenges and opportunities in real time.
Campaign Management (30%)
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring all campaigns are executed efficiently.
  • Work closely with internal teams to maintain quality control and alignment on project objectives.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations as needed.
Internal Collaboration (20%)
  • Work cross-functionally with creative, media, and strategy teams to execute client initiatives.
  • Maintain strong internal communication, ensuring that all teams are aligned on client expectations.
  • Assist in the development of client presentations and reports to showcase campaign results.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Client Satisfaction & Retention - Maintain an 85%+ client satisfaction and retention rate.
  • Project Execution - Ensure 95%+ of projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Account Growth - Think strategically, pursue growth opportunities, and grow your personally managed annual book of business by 10%.
  • Campaign Performance - Improve marketing metrics such as engagement, conversions, and ROI through strategic adjustments.

First 30 Days:
  • Learn agency processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Review existing client accounts and gain an understanding of their business goals.
  • Meet with internal teams and leadership to establish key working relationships.
  • Observe ongoing campaigns and projects to understand execution strategies.
60 Days:
  • Take full ownership of assigned accounts, acting as the lead point of contact.
  • Begin managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables independently.
  • Identify potential process improvements for more efficient account management.
  • Contribute to client presentations and strategy discussions.
90 Days:
  • Identify and present opportunities for account growth, such as additional services or expanded scope.
  • Lead client meetings, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Establish long-term success strategies for assigned accounts to improve retention and performance.
  • Set personal and professional development goals to enhance skills in account management.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $55,000-$72,000 base, commensurate with experience.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a Safe Harbor employer match.
  • Time Off: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 11 paid holidays, plus paid days off between Christmas and New Year’s, totaling approximately 26 paid days off.
