Position Purpose:Core-Mark International is seeking a results-driven Strategic Partner to collaborate with our fleet operations and procurement teams. This partner will be responsible for managing vendor relationships related to fuel procurement, tire solutions, and related services. The ideal partner will help optimize performance and the safety of our fleet operations, with a particular focus on our primary fuel, roadside, and fleet service provider.
Key Responsibilities:Fuel Sourcing & Management:- Over-the-Road Fuel Procurement: Develop a fuel procurement strategy in partnership with provider. Ensure a commitment of gallons of gas purchased per month by the end of 2026 and prioritize provider's fueling locations across all systems.
- Bulk Fuel Procurement: Manage bulk fuel relationships with provider. Ensure inclusion in 100% of bulk gallon opportunities through the end of 2028.
- Fuel Cards & Marketing Support: Facilitate implementation of fuel card solutions to streamline fueling processes and enhance driver convenience. Collaborate with provider to create marketing materials and guides for drivers on Rewards Membership and other promotions.
- Priority Consideration & Last-Look Rights: Secure first-look rights and priority consideration for all states, especially during the pre-auction process. Ensure provider retains last-look rights if an auction commences.
- Implement tracking and performance monitoring systems to ensure fleet metrics are achieved for Tire program, Maintenance Management Software, CDL Protection and alternative Fuels.
Roadside Service Coordination:- Coordinate with provider's to make primary ERS provider, where applicable.
- Monitor response times, service quality, and vendor performance metrics.
Contract & Relationship Management:- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Regularly review contracts to ensure compliance and performance across all service areas, including fuel procurement, tire solutions, and roadside services.
Cost Optimization & Reporting:- Provide both internally and externally, regular analytics, KPI reporting, and market intelligence on fuel pricing, bulk fuel performance, tire programs, and roadside services
Required Qualifications2-3 years of work experience in customer management
Preferred Qualifications\tProven experience in strategic sourcing, fleet procurement, or supply chain partnerships (5+ years preferred).
\tStrong knowledge of fuel markets, tire products, and roadside service logistics.
\tDemonstrated negotiation, contract management, and vendor performance monitoring skills.
\tAbility to work cross-functionally with fleet operations, finance, and logistics.
\tExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
\tExperience with fleet management software and procurement tools is a plus
