Job summary

Argo Group is seeking an Account Manager in Construction for our operations across multiple offices. The role focuses on customer service, underwriting support, data research, and transaction processing to ensure timely, accurate handling of accounts.

The position requires strong insurance knowledge, high-volume adaptability, and excellent communication. On-site presence is expected at NYC, Chicago, Richmond, or Omaha offices with a potential bonus and benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process account inquiries and endorsements within service standards.
  • Follow guidelines to ensure accurate processing and compliance.
  • Conduct underwriting file analysis and identify forms/endorsements.
  • Assist underwriters to enhance division performance via systems and guidelines.
  • Develop relationships with underwriters, customers, and partners to provide high-quality service.
  • Set up rating, issue binders, and send quotes on behalf of underwriters.
  • Interact with brokers for information, subjectivities, and inquiries.
  • Review inspection reports and follow up with brokers on coverage implications.
  • Participate in projects and attend broker visits as appropriate.

Job Description A Brief Overview

Argo Group currently has a challenging opportunity for an Account Manager in their Construction, Owners line of business. This position will provide support and assistance to the overall underwriting function through customer service, processing of various underwriting transactions, data research and analysis. The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering customer service excellence to our internal and external partners. This role will work onsite 5x per week from our New York City, Chicago, Richmond, or Omaha office.

Primary duties and responsibilities
  • Analyze and process account inquiries, complex endorsement requests, and changes such as billing and other needs within established service standards.
  • Utilize and follow internal guidelines, authority, and procedures to ensure that all assigned work transactions are processed accurately while meeting service and compliance standards.
  • Conduct underwriting file analysis, including identifying forms and endorsements to be used in policy.
  • Assist underwriters in carrying out their essential duties and responsibilities to enhance the overall performance of the division through utilization of systems and guidelines as provided.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with underwriters, customers, and business partners to provide high quality service to clients.
  • Setup rating, issue binders, and send out quotes on behalf of the underwriters.
  • Interact with brokers to assist with follow up for underlying information, subjectivities as well as addressing account inquiries.
  • Thorough review and analysis of inspection reports including follow up with brokers on observations that affect coverage implications.
  • Participate in projects and other dues as assigned.
  • Attend broker visits when appropriate.
Core qualifications and requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent; college course work or degree preferred.
  • General knowledge of commercial insurance strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a time sensitive and high-volume environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing direction, adjusting priorities and/or work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work autonomously in a fast paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Strong oral, written, organizational, analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with agent/broker workforce.
  • Must display a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel on a minimal basis.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Richmond Pay Range: $24.42/hr - $34.18/hr

Albany and Chicago Pay Range: $26.92/hr - $37.71/hr

Los Angeles and New York City Pay Range: $29.42/hr - $41.14/hr
