Account Manager - Carbon Black - Midwest, IN, OH, or PA

Join Soltex, Inc. as an Account Manager - Carbon Black - Midwest, IN, OH, or PA. We are a thriving, privately held company seeking a driven professional to join our Acetylene Black sales team. At Soltex, every employee plays a crucial role in our success, emphasizing open communication, collaboration, and recognition of achievements.

In this role, you will handle technical inquiries, provide expert recommendations, and assist customers in selecting the right materials. Customer satisfaction is our priority, and your dedication to excellent service will be vital.

Acetylene Black is a high-purity Carbon Black used in industries such as batteries, tires/rubber, paints, and conductive coatings. Prior experience with Carbon Black or its markets is essential. You will focus on expanding sales and discovering new applications.

We seek a self-motivated, solutions-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a passion for exceeding customer expectations. Travel is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Driving sales within your territory to meet or exceed quotas.
  2. Building and maintaining customer relationships.
  3. Identifying new business opportunities and applications.
  4. Developing relationships with decision-makers.
  5. Staying informed about industry trends and competitors.
  6. Becoming an expert in our products and industry standards.

  11. Performing additional duties as needed.
  12. Travel approximately 35-50% of the time.

Qualifications include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in the Carbon Black industry, especially in Acetylene Black.
  3. Knowledge of applications in rubber, batteries, inks, and coatings.
  4. Ability to collaborate on product development.
  5. Proven sales and business development experience.
  6. Lab experience is a plus.
  7. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  8. Negotiation skills and ability to manage transactions.
  9. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  10. Positive attitude, integrity, and adaptability.

Technical skills required:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  2. Ability to learn new software quickly.
