As a Procedural Capital Account Manager at STERIS, you will be the primary contact and sales consultant responsible for selling and supporting the Procedural Capital portfolio of products. This includes general and specialty surgical tables, surgical and examination lights, equipment management systems, operating room storage cabinets, warming cabinets, scrub sinks, and other complementary products and accessories for use in hospitals and ambulatory surgery sites.

This is a remote-based customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in one of the following locations: Rochester, Albany, Syracuse, Ithaca, Utica, or Binghamton to support and service our customers in this territory.

What will you do as an Account Manager:
  1. Forecast orders and sales on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  2. Understand and strive to provide accurate forecasts for manufacturing and financial reporting.
  3. Provide analysis and reporting on win/loss and other key business metrics.
  4. Maintain current and competitive product knowledge and market understanding to match company products and services to customer needs.
  5. Share competitive intelligence from various sources such as web searches, professional periodicals, customer newsletters, interactions, and organizations.
  6. Record customer feedback and complaints through proper quality channels.
  7. Balance managing current customer needs with prospecting new business opportunities.
  8. Utilize sales resources effectively to maximize outcomes and provide optimal solutions (e.g., inventory management tools, mock room equipment, etc.).
  9. Engage with professional organizations like AORN, AACN/NTI, and regional buying groups.
  10. Participate in meetings and conferences as an educator or exhibitor.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of sales experience exceeding goals
  • 2+ years of successful B2B or medical device sales
  • Experience in selling new products and increasing utilization
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25%
  • Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Preferred

  • Experience in medical and capital equipment sales
  • Selling to Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments
  • Success in selling IT solutions/video integration
  • Understanding hospital buying processes including GPO, IDN, Distributors
