Job description

This position is responsible for sales and business development of SDI Li-ion battery products portfolio in the USA, for small and large battery business (cylindrical and prismatic mainly) focusing on the management of sales revenue, new business development and building customer relationship to reach the company's business growth targets.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Account Management: Achieve/exceed sales objectives including revenue, and quantity for LiB products in the assigned territory and assigned Accounts: (i) Work closely with project sponsors & global cross-functional teams to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and schedule for new and existing program/model initiatives (ii) Obtain and maximize forecasts from customers (iii) Ensure the on-time delivery and the committed supply, having good understanding on supply plan (iv) Establish a price strategy, aligning with internal stakeholders, negotiate with customers for the best benefit and maximize a quarterly, half-yearly or yearly budget and target. (v) Promote and encourage customers to use or adopt SDI Battery, receiving projects inquiries/RFQ from customers and managing schedule until business award (vi) After project is awarded, act as the overall project manager and direct point of contact between local customers and global stakeholders.

2. Sales Strategy: Develop and execute Sales Strategy by contacting various information channels and analyzing various market/industry data with insight. Collect relevant information which helps understand the full scope of each account and opportunities within the industry. Based on this business intelligence, work with cross functional teams to create and deliver a targeted account strategy integrating the overall company strategy and goals.

3. Project Management: Oversee NPI & technical programs to ensure the project goals are fully met and the projects are completed in a timely fashion. Coordinate cross-project activities. Monitor & report the progress on regular basis. Prepare risk mitigation and recovery plan in case of project delay or unexpected issues. Highlight any potential “Show stoppers” to internal teams including management escalation for timely action

4. Customer Relationship Management: Develop close relationships across customer organizations to facilitate SDI cell’s on-time qualification, overall business growth and market sensing. Maintain all accounts information up to date including Buying Center's details and new collaboration opportunities into proprietary system.

5. New Business Development: Identify new business & technical collaboration opportunities, determine the potential value of oppys and set the strategy to participate or promote. Influence customer specifications, support qualification and sample submission and present commercial plan including production capacity, investment and cost. This responsibility also includes: (i) analyze customers’ requirement and apply to Samsung SDI policies (ii) directly negotiate to receive business awards and maximize order in-take with customers’ key decision makers by reaching mutually agreeable positions

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
  • 2+ Years prior experience preferred (but not required) in Sales, Marketing or Project management in battery, energy, consumer electronics or Automotive sector
