  • Develop marketing and communications planning with the client.
  • Monitor progress to meet timelines and budgets.
  • Manage creative development, production, media planning, approvals, and client sign-offs.
  • Provide status updates to supervisor and stakeholders.
  • Mentor Assistant Account Executives.
  • Maintain core account functions: status reports, contact reports, monthly billing, estimates.
  • Build trust by proactive communication and multi-project management.

Job Description

The Account Manager role is primarily responsible for the execution of all marketing and creative for assigned accounts. They are the client's day-to-day contact and brand steward within the agency, and should drive and carry out the execution of projects flawlessly across the client's business. They support the senior members of the account team and effectively manage up to ensure open communication on the status of projects.

Areas of Focus
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead projects independently; but works effectively to manage upwards and across the team
  • Understands role and function of other agency disciplines and when those staff members should be brought in to interface with the client
  • Sets and communicates clear expectations with the team for each project
  • Maintains a positive relationship between agency and client
  • Understands client's business and strategic direction
  • Assists with the development of marketing and communications planning
  • Follows up on all work in progress to ensure timelines and budgets are met
  • Manages creative development, production, media planning/execution, network clearance, legal approvals, client approvals, etc. on assigned projects
  • Keeps immediate supervisor informed to status and progress of all projects.
  • Monitors all budget, billing and production activity assigned and communicates status of each project to appropriate agency and client personnel
  • Helps mentor Assistant Account Executives
  • Successfully maintains the core functions of the account: weekly status reports, contact reports within 24 hours, monthly billing, tracking estimates
  • Builds trust in team members by taking initiative, responding quickly and accurately to requests from client and internal partners, managing multiple projects
Qualifications / Traits
  • 2 - 4 years agency account management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Confident and resourceful, can function with minimal supervision
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Dynamic agency member, contributing to a positive culture

The salary range for this position is listed below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to budget, relevant experience, qualifications, and tenure in similar roles. Consideration may also be given to internal salary data for current or former employees in the same or similar positions.

$52,000 - $60,000 annually

Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom's corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
