Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Oversee general ledger activities: cash/investments, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, and expense accruals.
• Develop and implement accounting policies to identify, resolve, and document issues.
• Support external audits with schedules and item reconciliation.

Job description

This position is eligible for remote work.

Role and Responsibilities

• Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process general journal entries, accruals, account analysis, and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts
• Manage the general ledger accounting activities, such as cash/investments, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, and various expense accruals
• Be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues
• Assist with various aspects of external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and reviewing outstanding items lists
• Partner cross-functionally with Account Payable (AP) to establish best practices, as well as assist with on-going process refinement to improve the efficiency and accuracy of General Ledger (GL) accounting and reporting
• Assist in system implementation and enhancing accounting procedures to maintain and enhance the internal control environment over operational accounting processes and systems
• Prepare 571L property tax filing and other compliance filings as needed
• Support special ad hoc projects as needed
• Assume new responsibilities and perform ad hoc requests

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 10+ years’ experience
• Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong analytical and accounting skills and good understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
• Experience in public accounting (Audits, consulting etc.) is a strong plus
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet regular and critical deadlines
• Ability to contribute to and work within a cross-functional team
  • Must possess the ability to take the initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and culturally diverse workplace environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel , Concur, NetSuite or other ERP
  • Preferred experience in a mid/large-sized publicly traded corporation
