The Account Manager is a critical role within the Platform Operations department that partners directly with Sales to service our advertising agency partners and execute high-performing advertising campaigns. The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring campaigns exceed expectations - driving renewals and strengthening relationships with clients across both direct and programmatic environments.
The role involves coordinating internal teams, reviewing and interpreting performance data, and proactively identifying opportunities for growth. Account Managers will support the execution of direct and programmatic campaigns by managing day-to-day setup, activation, monitoring, and reporting needs, ensuring the delivery of a seamless client experience and campaign success.
End-to-End Campaign Management: Own the full post-sale campaign lifecycle across direct and programmatic channels—from kickoff and creative QA to DSP activation, pacing, and wrap decks.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with AdOps, Design, Engineering, and Sales to ensure seamless campaign setup, accurate execution, and structured pod alignments.
Performance & Optimization: Monitor daily delivery, pacing, and KPI trends to deliver actionable optimization recommendations and data-driven insights to clients.
Client Relationship Ownership: Serve as the primary post-sale contact for agency and trading desk partners, building long-term trust through clear communication and best-in-class support.
Retention & Renewal Strategy: Drive account renewals and lead high-value QBR and wrap deck presentations for key accounts to showcase ROI and campaign success.
Revenue & Upsell Growth: Partner with Sales to identify incremental, upsell, and cross-channel opportunities within existing accounts to maximize lifetime value.
Technical & Platform Alignment: Collaborate with the Strategic Programmatic Lead to troubleshoot complex technical issues, adopt evolving best practices, and leverage new platform capabilities.
Strategic Client Intelligence: Research client marketing goals to proactively position GumGum’s capabilities and secure future revenue pipelines.
Programmatic & Digital Media Expertise: Strong grasp of DSPs, Deal IDs, Real-Time Bidding (RTB), agency trading desks, and core digital metrics/revenue models.
Data-Driven Analysis: Ability to interpret campaign performance data, synthesize clear insights, and confidently explain results to clients.
AdTech Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with industry tools such as Salesforce, Jira, IAS, DoubleVerify, Upwave, and ad serving platforms like Google Ad Manager/DoubleClick.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Skilled at navigating diverse internal and external relationships, balancing competing client needs with diplomacy and high-touch service.
Strong Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical workflows clearly.
Core Technical Tools: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for performance modeling and client presentations.
Organization & Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive Growth Mindset: Highly self-motivated team player who takes initiative, adapts well to ongoing feedback, and approaches challenges with a logical, problem-solving mindset.
Education: BA/BS degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience.
Industry Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in digital media, specifically within Account Management or Media Planning.
Programmatic Domain Knowledge: Hands-on background in programmatic execution (trading, planning, or programmatic account management).
Agency Ecosystem Familiarity: Strong foundational understanding of the agency landscape, from holding companies down to agency trading desks.
At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from $72,000 - $90,000 annually. The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.
The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
