Job description

GumGum is The Mindset Company™ transforming advertising. We’re an advertising technology company delivering results by matching brands with people in the right mindset in the moments that matter. Our platform is powered by the Mindset Graph™, our AI-driven data engine that processes billions of real-time contextual, creative, environmental, and historical signals to match every ad with the most receptive audience. The result is advertising that drives meaningful outcomes for advertisers and publishers, and is more relevant for consumers.

We were founded in 2008 and are headquartered in Santa Monica, California, operating in over 19 markets across North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia.

Our principles guide our work every day and are as follows:

  • Customer-Obsessed: We’re focused on advertising solutions that solve needs and drive success for clients and partners.
  • Make it Happen: We have a bias for action and take ownership to deliver results.
  • Always Innovate: We push boundaries with creativity and technology.
  • Foster Belonging: We ensure colleagues feel included, supported, and empowered to thrive.

The Account Manager is a critical role within the Platform Operations department that partners directly with Sales to service our advertising agency partners and execute high-performing advertising campaigns. The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring campaigns exceed expectations - driving renewals and strengthening relationships with clients across both direct and programmatic environments.

The role involves coordinating internal teams, reviewing and interpreting performance data, and proactively identifying opportunities for growth. Account Managers will support the execution of direct and programmatic campaigns by managing day-to-day setup, activation, monitoring, and reporting needs, ensuring the delivery of a seamless client experience and campaign success.

What You'll Achieve

End-to-End Campaign Management: Own the full post-sale campaign lifecycle across direct and programmatic channels—from kickoff and creative QA to DSP activation, pacing, and wrap decks.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with AdOps, Design, Engineering, and Sales to ensure seamless campaign setup, accurate execution, and structured pod alignments.

Performance & Optimization: Monitor daily delivery, pacing, and KPI trends to deliver actionable optimization recommendations and data-driven insights to clients.

Client Relationship Ownership: Serve as the primary post-sale contact for agency and trading desk partners, building long-term trust through clear communication and best-in-class support.

Retention & Renewal Strategy: Drive account renewals and lead high-value QBR and wrap deck presentations for key accounts to showcase ROI and campaign success.

Revenue & Upsell Growth: Partner with Sales to identify incremental, upsell, and cross-channel opportunities within existing accounts to maximize lifetime value.

Technical & Platform Alignment: Collaborate with the Strategic Programmatic Lead to troubleshoot complex technical issues, adopt evolving best practices, and leverage new platform capabilities.

Strategic Client Intelligence: Research client marketing goals to proactively position GumGum’s capabilities and secure future revenue pipelines.

Skills You'll Bring

Programmatic & Digital Media Expertise: Strong grasp of DSPs, Deal IDs, Real-Time Bidding (RTB), agency trading desks, and core digital metrics/revenue models.

Data-Driven Analysis: Ability to interpret campaign performance data, synthesize clear insights, and confidently explain results to clients.

AdTech Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with industry tools such as Salesforce, Jira, IAS, DoubleVerify, Upwave, and ad serving platforms like Google Ad Manager/DoubleClick.

Client & Stakeholder Management: Skilled at navigating diverse internal and external relationships, balancing competing client needs with diplomacy and high-touch service.

Strong Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical workflows clearly.

Core Technical Tools: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for performance modeling and client presentations.

Organization & Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proactive Growth Mindset: Highly self-motivated team player who takes initiative, adapts well to ongoing feedback, and approaches challenges with a logical, problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: BA/BS degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, or equivalent practical experience.

Industry Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in digital media, specifically within Account Management or Media Planning.

Programmatic Domain Knowledge: Hands-on background in programmatic execution (trading, planning, or programmatic account management).

Agency Ecosystem Familiarity: Strong foundational understanding of the agency landscape, from holding companies down to agency trading desks.
