Job description

Account Manager - Music Merchandise Client

Los Angeles, CA | Hybrid (4 days onsite) | Full-Time

Company Overview

Our client is a boutique music merchandise company based in Los Angeles, running touring, e-commerce, and retail merchandise programs for artists. Their product was never the t-shirt. It's the expertise, the judgment, and the trust clients place in them to run their merch business better than they could run it themselves.

Role Overview

Account Managers are the client-facing presence our client puts behind every account on their roster. You are the face of the company to your clients — responsible for maintaining strong relationships, setting the tone, and making sure the company is represented with professionalism, clarity, and reliability in every interaction, every time. Senior AMs run their book through a Coordinator who absorbs the day-to-day volume. You don't have that. On this role, you are both the quarterback and the one running the plays: you call the plan, and you execute it. That includes the client communication, the PO submissions, the timeline tracking, the reconciliation, and the follow-up nobody sees. You collaborate constantly with Production, Art, Operations, E-Commerce, Finance, and Touring Logistics, and you have their full support. You report to a Senior Account Manager for visibility, mentorship, and escalation, not day-to-day direction.

Responsibilities
  • Client Communications — day-to-day and strategic, start to finish, including kickoffs and business reviews
  • Production Coordination & PO Submission — submitting orders and POs to Production and tracking them through to completion, personally
  • Product Development for Non-Standard Items — owning the product knowledge and working directly with Production, vendors, and factories to land on the right approach, until the client approves it
  • Projections & Ordering — setting the plan and the numbers behind it (margin, pricing, order quantities, product mix) within company pricing guardrails
  • Tour Management — planning through live execution and post-tour reporting
  • Project & File Management — timelines, approvals, and organized files kept current in real time
  • Quoting, Cost Management & Invoicing
  • e-Commerce Oversight
  • Strategic Planning & Revenue Generation
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Brand Protection & Client Satisfaction
  • Executing on CEO-issued directives — sales goals, artist-specific incentives, or strategic initiatives — by building the plan and mobilizing the relevant internal teams to hit them
  • Maintaining situational awareness after hours when active project deadlines or urgent matters are in progress, and responding or delegating as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Confidence with Excel/Google Sheets — reporting, pivots, formulas
  • Comfort in Photoshop/Illustrator for light design adjustments and mockups
  • Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Basecamp, Acumatica, etc.)
  • Daily comfort in Dropbox for file organization and version control
  • Comfort using Claude or similar AI tools to draft routine updates, summarize threads, and speed up day-to-day admin work. You own what goes out under your name, so you read it, confirm it's accurate, and make it sound like you before it reaches a client.
  • Strong independent judgment — this role has no Coordinator and no Senior AM checking your daily work; you need to know when to move and when to elevate
Bonus Points For
  • Knowledge of apparel printing and production methods
  • Familiarity with fashion blanks, fabrics, and fit
  • Understanding of e-commerce platforms like Shopify
  • An eagle eye for detail — you catch mistakes others miss
  • A genuine passion for live music, touring, and culture
