As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales for audio visual systems and will require approximately 50% travel within the assigned territory. What You’ll Do
As an Account Manager, you will generate sales for audio visual systems, travel approximately 50% of the time within your territory, meet with potential and current customers, and build lasting relationships.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Identify sales prospects within the assigned territory and provide accurate forecasts and activity reports to management.
- Analyze cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities to ensure company products and services are thoroughly presented and the sales cycle successfully executed.
- Exhibit a consultative sales approach to determine customers’ visual collaboration needs.
- Develop price quotations and bid responses that are complete, accurate, and profitable.
- Prepare contracts and pricing strategies for target accounts and submit all required documentation.
- Develop a strategic comprehensive business plan.
- Work with the installation team to ensure a smooth transition from sale to installation.
- Develop and execute quarterly sales plans to expand the existing client base and generate new business to meet quota.
- Attend and participate in weekly office sales meetings.
- Meet or exceed monthly gross profit quota.
- Design and implement focused prospecting tools such as webinars, seminars, and social media campaigns to increase sales and expand the customer base.
- Establish professional relationships with manufacturer sales and engineering personnel.
- Actively use internal databases to update client contact information, provide detailed notes, and track pending activities.
- Follow up on leads within 24 hours of client inquiry.
- Represent the company at technological briefings and trade shows as assigned.
- Participate in training and professional development activities as prescribed by management.
- Monitor non‑installed product commissions weekly to ensure timely completion by month end.
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility and adaptability.
Must‑Haves / What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5–7 years of direct selling experience.
- Effective communication and interaction skills with employees, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Clear and professional communication skills (written and oral) both internally and externally.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Ability to understand, present, and demonstrate visual collaboration products and services to end‑user customers.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines.
- Legal authorization to drive, maintain a valid driver’s license, and provide proof of coverage for personal or company vehicles, as required.
- Compliance with all fleet vehicle guidelines, including telematics monitoring, maintenance schedules, and proper use of fuel and toll devices.
Nice‑To‑Haves
- Four‑year college degree preferred.
- Experience in direct selling within AV/VTC/Telecommunications/Construction/Technology industries preferred.
- Salesforce experience preferred.
