Job description

CST Industries is a global leader in the manufacture and construction of factory coated metal storage tanks, aluminum domes, and specialty covers. CST’s existing company portfolio includes CST Storage, CST Covers, and Vulcan Tanks. The company operates five manufacturing facilities, technical design centers, and multiple regional sales offices across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam. Manufacturing locations are in the United States (Kansas City, MO; Parsons, KS; Conroe, TX; DeKalb, IL; Winchester, TN) and in the United Kingdom.

Job Summary

This remote position offers the flexibility to be based anywhere in the Northeast US or along the East Coast. The role involves managing sales activities for assigned accounts, territory, and product lines, primarily through personal efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Direct and organize marketing, external sales, and internal sales activities within the assigned area.
  2. Maintain and update CRM accounts, opportunities, and sales details for reporting purposes.
  3. Review customer information to identify needs, potential sales volume, and discount rates; develop sales campaigns accordingly.
  4. Recommend product simplification and standardization to assigned accounts.
  5. Represent the company at trade shows to promote products.
  6. Coordinate communication between the region, accounts, and CST personnel.
  7. Manage personal expenditures to stay within budget.
  8. Prepare periodic sales reports detailing sales volume and potential.
  9. Plan and optimize travel within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  1. A degree in engineering, industrial distribution, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
  2. At least 5+ years of proven experience in industrial and/or capital equipment sales or business development.
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  4. Ability to interpret technical/construction plans and specifications.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Experience in water/wastewater industries is beneficial.

Reasoning Ability:

  1. Solve practical problems involving limited standardization.
  2. Interpret instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule).

Language Skills:

  1. Read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents.
  2. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  3. Present information effectively and respond to questions from diverse groups.

Mathematical Skills:

  1. Calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  1. Prepare quotes and estimates based on customer specifications.
  2. Travel up to 50% and possess public speaking skills.
  3. Have access to personal transportation for travel purposes.
