Job summary

MikeWorldWide in New York City is seeking an Account Executive to join the Corporate Reputation team and drive proactive media relations for high-profile clients in corporate and B2B spaces.

You will own media relations, draft press materials, pitch journalists, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver standout programs while mentoring junior staff and expanding coverage across traditional and digital outlets.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of full-time PR agency or corporate communications experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations or related field.
• Maintain a professional, client-ready demeanor in all communications.
• Superior oral and written communication skills; proofreading accuracy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in media writing and media relations (press releases, pitches).
• Proven track record of fostering strong journalist relationships and earned media coverage.
• Understanding of digital and social media and how they complement traditional media relations.
• Ability to think on your feet and learn diverse business sectors quickly.
• Excellent time management and project management skills (timelines, deadlines).
• Experience working with corporate/B2B clients.

Responsibilities

• Own media relations for your teams – drafting press materials and cultivating journalist relationships.
• Proactively generate pitches and opportunities to ensure client program success.
• Liaise between clients, vendors, and agency departments to keep teams and deliverables organized.
• Demonstrate excellent writing across releases, pitches, media audits, and reports.
• Monitor news and flag trends,reporting and rapid response pitching.
• Understand clients’ businesses and industries and track industry issues.
• Proactively mentor junior staff in outreach and delivery.
• Provide hands-on social/digital support for clients and explore paid media opportunities.
