Job summary

Mimecast is seeking an Account Executive, Commercial for the Southeast to drive new business in a fast-paced, cloud-based cybersecurity environment. You will identify opportunities, build pipeline, and close deals with enterprise customers in your territory.

You’ll collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, and Channel teams to develop account plans, manage CRM activity, and hit monthly and quarterly targets. A strong sales mindset and cybersecurity familiarity are preferred.

Overview

Mimecast is a partner-centric organization, and our Account Executives work closely with Business Development, Partner Development, Marketing, and our partner community to generate a pipeline of new business opportunities and convert them into new customers.

We're looking for a self-motivated, collaborative sales professional with a proven record of generating and winning new business. You'll bring a strong understanding of the corporate technology stack and cloud computing; cybersecurity knowledge is desirable. This role will suit someone with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced, agile, and well-structured sales environment that is regularly reinventing itself.

What You'll Do

• Identify sales opportunities within your assigned territory and develop strategies to sell Mimecast solutions into new accounts.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual new business targets.
• Partner with the Partner and Channel Development team to develop and execute account plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new business prospects.
• Manage sales administration, including KPI reporting and accurate, timely CRM housekeeping.
• Become an expert in Mimecast's sales methodology and processes.
• Monitor and report on sales activity, providing relevant information to management.
• Collaborate with teams across Mimecast and attend meetings that support business performance and organizational development.
• Participate in training and continuously develop relevant knowledge and skills.

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated success selling IT solutions and achieving revenue quotas, with the proficiency to independently manage a commercial sales cycle and win new business.
• Experience in email, messaging, cybersecurity, or storage solutions is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience working across both direct and indirect sales models is desirable.
• A strong understanding of corporate IT teams and their buying processes.
• Knowledge of the corporate technology stack and cloud computing; cybersecurity knowledge is desirable.
• Strong business and commercial acumen, with effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• A results-oriented, self-starting approach and the confidence to operate in a high-performance, dynamic environment.
• Strong planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess your own performance critically.
• A collaborative, adaptable, and tenacious mindset, paired with curiosity, humility, and a can-do attitude.
• Degree-level education is preferred but not required.

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this position is $176,000 - $264,000 plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
