Job summary

Kranz Consulting is expanding its SoCal practice and seeks a highly motivated Account Executive to drive new client acquisition, retain relationships, and lead revenue growth across Emerging Growth, Private Capital, and Technical Accounting verticals.

You will engage with CEOs, CFOs, and portfolio leadership, manage a defined territory, and build a robust pipeline through research, networking, and consultative selling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 7 to 10 years of business-to-business sales, business development, and/or financial services experience.
  • Background in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience serving Private Equity and Venture Capital clients preferred.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to identify client needs and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, close deals, and retain clients.
  • Experience generating qualified leads, referrals, and follow‑up opportunities.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and work with urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned territory in a highly organized, disciplined manner using CRM tools.
  • Generate new business through research, lead generation, prospecting, networking, cold outreach, social selling, and in-person meetings.
  • Build and maintain prospect lists across Private Equity and Venture Capital firms, their portfolio companies, and related executive teams.
  • Drive annual revenue responsibility of approximately $2M-$4M+ through account growth, client expansion, and new business development.
  • Research, qualify, and develop sales opportunities with both prospective and existing clients.
  • Build strong relationships with portfolio company leadership teams, hiring managers, and C‑suite executives.
  • Maintain active involvement in relevant networking organizations and industry events.
  • Meet or exceed weekly activity expectations and revenue growth targets.
  • Manage sales and marketing efforts to sell finance/accounting staffing and financial consulting services to companies and venture capital firms.
  • Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies and territory action plans to grow existing business and identify new opportunities.
  • Assess client technical accounting and staffing needs, then recommend solutions using a consultative sales approach.
  • Sell staff augmentation, project consulting, recruiting, and related professional services to new and existing clients.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline progress, and performance against quotas and goals.
  • Represent Kranz Consulting professionally in client meetings, calls, and social or business events.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As we expand our national presence, our Kranz SoCal practice is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Account Executive to join our business development team to drive new client acquisition, support client retention, account leadership and expand Kranz Consulting’s presence in the marketplace. You will serve as a consultative partner to clients while helping grow our financial consulting business across our three verticals: Emerging Growth, Private Capital, and Technical Accounting.

Qualifications

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and work with urgency
  • Self‑motivated, competitive, resourceful, and results‑oriented
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency with HubSpot and Salesforce
  • Experience with both inside sales and outside sales
  • General understanding of Venture Capital fund administration
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
