Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an Account Executive in the Midwest Public Sector to drive relationships with K-12, higher education, municipal and county government customers. You will lead cross-functional teams, design campaigns, and present to executive-level prospects to win sustainability contracts.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree and direct sales experience with significant sales goals.
  • 3-5 years of professional sales experience.
  • Experience with ESCO markets is a plus.
  • Proven success closing complex service or solution sales with public sector clients.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and build new client relationships through research and outreach.
  • Create lead generation campaigns to prospect and grow business.
  • Lead internal teams and present to C-suite clients.
  • Develop strategic and tactical plans to convert prospects to clients.
  • Network in relevant markets to expand opportunities and promote Schneider Electric.

Join us as an Account Executive and help organizations achieve their most ambitious sustainability goals. Schneider Electric's Account Executives are integral to the success of client engagement within the Public Sector. They are customer-centric, relationship builders who provide highly sustainable, comprehensive ways to reduce energy expenses and achieve and sustain better overall performance from our clients' facilities. This Account Executive sits within our Sustainability Public Sector in the Midwest. Public Sector projects are typically small to medium in size with traditional scope of complexity. Customer vertical markets may include K-12 education, post-secondary, municipal and county government. We are seeking a candidate that is already established and familiar with the markets listed on this job posting.

What will you do?
  • Identifying and building new client relationships with research and community outreach
  • Creating lead generation campaigns to prospect and build new business
  • Leading internal teams
  • Calling on executive-level prospects and present to C-suite clients
  • Leading the development of strategic and tactical plans for moving prospects to clients.
  • Networking inside relevant vertical market and industry organizations to educate, expand prospect opportunities and promote Schneider as the industry leader
And on some days, you may:
  • Close multi-million-dollar design-build energy infrastructure deals
  • Negotiate the price and contract for large, complex infrastructure improvements
  • Facilitate industry events

  • Account Management - intermediate level; developing long-term relationships and optimizing customer portfolios
  • Customer Relationship Management - intermediate level; coordinating interactions and ensuring satisfaction across touchpoints
  • Consultative Selling - developing level; uncovering customer needs and positioning solutions that drive efficiency and sustainability
  • Negotiation - intermediate level; closing complex deals while balancing customer value and business objectives
  • Financial Acumen - developing level; articulating ROI and business impact of sustainability investments
  • Product Knowledge - intermediate level; demonstrating how solutions address specific customer challenges
  • Industry Knowledge - intermediate level; understanding market trends and customer priorities in sustainability
  • Communication - developing level; presenting value propositions clearly to operations and C-level stakeholders
What qualifications will make you successful?
  • A 4-year degree and direct sales experience with demonstrated achievement of significant sales goals in previous work environments
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • ESCO experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success in closing complex service and/or solution sales, not primarily product sales
  • Proven experience initiating and closing sales of large $ volume at high organizational levels – C-suite or equivalent with public sector clients (Not a fresh graduate role)

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 82,320 - USD 123,480 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
