Local governments spend billions on technology every year, and most of them buy it through a process that can take a year or more. Marketplace.city exists to change that. We give cities, counties and public agencies the market data, peer insight and procurement support they need to find, evaluate and buy the right technology, faster and with more confidence.
We started in 2016 as a pilot with New York City's technology office and launched as a company in 2017. Since then we've supported more than 200 governments, from Los Angeles, New Orleans and Cook County to transit agencies like SEPTA and smaller cities across the country. In Aurora, Illinois, technology projects that used to take many months now close in about 100 days on average.
