About the role

The life science CRM cloud service market is in a period of rapid transformation. As well, AI and Generative AI solutions are important areas of interest for life science companies. They are looking for a partner to help them understand best practices and ROI achievement amidst system transitions/optimizations and early adoption of accelerators like GenAI. To assist US life science customers with industry innovation and this transformation, we are looking for an Account Director who identifies as a hunter and has E2E experience finding new customers, executing NDAs and MSAs, closing deals within a reasonable timeframe, and nurturing new customer partnerships to generate follow-on business. The focus will be to grow new US business with small/medium (SMB) pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device customers.

You will become part of a growing global business and technology company that provides proven GenAI solutions and consulting services to clients across the life sciences industry, focusing on US business growth, while working alongside our 300 consultants across US/Europe, as well as colleagues from our parent company Infosys.

You will report to the VP of Sales for BASE life science in the US.

As an Account Director your main tasks will be to find the appropriate life science companies and contacts, optimally utilize ZoomInfo and Sales Navigator and populate our CRM, create and deliver individualized need-based outreach, and successfully develop and grow sales at new SMB life science customers in the United States.

As an Account Director your responsibilities include:

  • Hunting new SMB clients, positioning of BASE commercial and/or R&D offerings, contracting (NDA/MSA/SOW) agreements and negotiations, and a focused effort on exceeding quota and YoY sales growth.

CRM:

  • Logging new prospects and accounts and documenting calls, identifying and documenting opportunities through stages, and updating CRM content on a regular basis for transparency into both your sales and contact interactions and progress towards exceeding quota.
  • The sales process involves interaction with Offering and Delivery teams across Europe (and to a lesser extent currently in the US). Respectful collaboration across time zones and cultures is critical to the success of this role.

What makes you the best person for this job?

We are looking for a driven Account Director US, who can “hunt” appropriate SMB targets who are currently unknown to BASE, understands consultative selling to customer needs, and who can independently handle the end-to-end sales process from cold prospecting through to contract execution.

On top of this, you have the following competences:

  • 3+ years of sales experience with a track record of supporting the adoption of solutions for life science companies, involving technology, digital platforms, software, innovation, or AI.
  • 3+ years of experience in direct customer engagement activities, including cold prospecting, needs-based selling, sales presentations with and without support, excellent internal and external communication, price negotiation to ensure profit margin, customer service, and ability to manage limited internal resources while progressing a sale to a successful close.
  • Being able to demonstrate the ability to understand and relate to client needs and translating them into winning proposals that address unique challenges effectively.

If you are a strong team player, have demonstrated cold prospecting through to closed sales success, are willing to put in the time to independently train on the solutions we are selling, and can work independently and remotely while respectfully engaging and influencing external customers and internal team members in an agile global environment, you will fit into a professional and dynamic international team like ours.

On top, you bring the following qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, preferably proven experience in collaborating effectively across different teams and levels in a matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver well-structured oral and written communications.
  • Thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical industry covering such areas as clinical and regulatory operations, and/or commercial and marketing operations.
  • Successful sales experience in the pharmaceutical and/or life science industry.
  • Experience with digital technologies platforms (Veeva or Salesforce platform an advantage).
  • Proven track record of prospecting and selling to new clients.
  • Proficiency in identifying and solving problems and selling effective solutions.
  • Cross-cultural competence with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
