The Role and What You’ll Do:
The Account Director/Senior Director is a seasoned Olympic marketer who will lead the day-to-day account team and assist clients in developing and executing Olympic marketing initiatives. This person will advise on and manage strategic concept development and program execution, while also bringing new ideas and opportunities for consideration. The Account Director/Senior Director will regularly communicate with key client personnel as well as internal agency stakeholders.
- Interact daily with corporate clients, properties, and multiple agencies/vendors to support sponsorship initiatives.
- Lead the daily performance of the account team, ensuring quality work, professional communication, effective process implementation, and timely, strategic account management.
- Assist with sponsorship strategy, development, and implementation, including negotiating contractual partnership terms, overseeing assets and third-party vendor involvement, and managing internal/external communications, promotions, and onsite activation.
- Develop sponsorship activation ideas and execution plans based on client objectives and budgets.
- Oversee tactical onsite sponsorship activation at high-profile sporting events, including talent booking, hospitality management, PR integration, client presence, relationship management, guest experiences, and property management.
- Develop programs utilizing sponsorship assets.
- Negotiate team, player, and third-party vendor contracts.
- Provide industry insights and sponsorship/property analysis, identifying incremental opportunities for integration and co-promotions.
- Lead evaluation and provide points of view on new sponsorship opportunities.
- Identify and contact potential marketing partners aligned with client goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with internal divisions to develop and implement client programs.
- Present to senior-level clients and internal agency executives.
You Have These:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field required; MBA preferred but not required.
- 8-10 years of Olympic marketing experience at an agency, client, or property.
- Proven client and team management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Extensive Olympic network to stay connected to trends and insights beneficial to the agency.
- Proven track record in developing and executing creative marketing solutions.
- Ability to lead development and implementation of marketing programs with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of client-service deliverables without compromising quality.
- Ability to manage daily relationships with clients and other agency divisions.
- Strong intellectual leadership, problem-solving skills, and a broad understanding of global popular culture.
- Excellent time management, written, and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, including weekends.
Note: The salary range reflects current local market conditions. Compensation includes base pay and may include incentives, benefits, and developmental opportunities. The minimum annual salary is $68,640; the maximum is to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
