Job Summary

This is a field-based and remote opportunity supporting key accounts in an assigned geography. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role. Please only apply if this location is accessible for you.

The Territory Account Specialist (TAS) is a driven sales leader who designs tailored customer experiences for each account and Healthcare Provider (HCP). Acting as the primary Point of Contact (PoC), the TAS engages clients to identify mutual priorities and address their needs through problem-solving and leveraging Novartis resources to improve patient outcomes. The role requires expertise in clinical selling, account management, access navigation, and omni-channel engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic territory business plans by pinpointing mutual priorities and using insights across accounts to enhance product demand and achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Encourage clinical discussions to motivate customer advocacy and involve the account team to identify and resolve barriers.
  • Use market understanding, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Conduct planning meetings with stakeholders to address complex customer issues and collaborate across departments.
  • Analyze market data to understand the local business landscape and lead virtual and in-person customer engagements.
  • Utilize omni-channel strategies to maximize personalized engagement with customers, both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Work collaboratively with regional colleagues and home-office teams to meet customer needs and provide access support.
  • Provide timely access assistance and collaborate with Patient Specialty Services to address customer requirements efficiently.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, biotech, or a similar sales role within the last 5 years.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, proficient clinical product communication, a track record of high performance, and experience in large account management.
  • Proactive with analytical skills to prioritize and solve problems ethically, promoting compliance.
  • Must reside within the territory or within a 50-mile commuting distance; ability to travel 60-80% within the territory; valid driver’s license required.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with therapeutic groups, disease states, product launches, and market access.
  • Knowledge of patient services, reimbursement, specialty pharmacy, and medical calling on HCPs regarding sophisticated products.
Leveling Guidelines
  • Level depends on experience: Territory Account Specialist (2+ years), Senior (5+ years), Executive (10+ years).
Additional Details

Driving is an essential function of this role; a valid, unrestricted driver’s license is required. Novartis provides accommodations for medical restrictions without eliminating this function.

Salary ranges vary by level, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock units, and comprehensive health and retirement plans. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors.

This role requires successful completion of initial training, which may be conducted remotely or in person.
