Job description

Adept EPR AI is an AI-powered compliance and intelligence platform designed to help brands, manufacturers, and packaging stakeholders navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations. Our platform combines regulatory intelligence, fee forecasting, scenario modeling, and conversational AI to deliver audit-ready compliance with speed and confidence.

We serve enterprise customers operating across multiple states and jurisdictions who require precision, credibility, and scalability in their compliance operations.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Account Director to own and grow a portfolio of enterprise EPR and sustainability accounts. This role is responsible for driving revenue expansion, customer satisfaction, and long‑term account value across complex, regulated organizations.

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior sustainability, packaging, legal, and compliance leaders, guiding customers from initial adoption through expansion, renewal, and multi‑year platform growth.

This role is remote‑first, with a preference for candidates able to collaborate during East Coast business hours.

Key Responsibilities
Account Ownership & Growth
  • Own overall account strategy, revenue growth, and retention for assigned enterprise customers.
  • Develop and execute account plans focused on expansion, renewals, and multi‑product adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to expand usage across business units, brands, geographies, and regulatory scopes.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue targets through upsell, cross‑sell, and renewals.
Enterprise Relationship Management
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with executive stakeholders across sustainability, packaging, compliance, finance, and legal functions.
  • Position Adept EPR AI as a long‑term strategic platform, not a point solution.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for account‑level issues, ensuring high customer satisfaction and confidence.
Solution Selling & Commercial Leadership
  • Lead complex, consultative sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long decision timelines.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and domain experts to tailor solutions to customer‑specific regulatory and operational needs.
  • Support proposal development, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with partners and advisors (consultancies, packaging firms, industry associations) where applicable.
Delivery Oversight & Value Realization
  • Ensure customers realize measurable value from the platform, including improved compliance outcomes, cost transparency, and risk reduction.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and Product teams to support onboarding, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for product and roadmap prioritization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, sustainability, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise account management, enterprise sales, or strategic client leadership.
  • Proven success managing complex, high‑value accounts with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles.
  • Experience selling SaaS, data platforms, or technology‑enabled services into regulated or compliance‑driven environments.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute account growth strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in EPR, sustainability, packaging, environmental compliance, or regulated industries.
  • Background working with large CPGs, retailers, manufacturers, or supply chain‑intensive organizations.
  • Familiarity with subscription‑based pricing, enterprise contracts, and multi‑year renewals.
  • Experience operating in startup or scale‑up environments with evolving products and processes.
  • Comfort collaborating closely with product and technical teams in customer‑facing contexts.
  • Competitive base salary plus performance‑based incentive compensation
  • Equity participation (where applicable)
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • Remote‑first work environment

Adept EPR AI is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and high‑performing team. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
