Job summary

Maricopa County's Public Defender's Office seeks an experienced Accident Reconstructionist & Defense Investigator to bridge collision science and courtroom strategy. You will reconstruct complex crash sequences, audit findings, and uncover critical details to empower our attorneys with science-backed defense narratives.

Qualifications

Three years of investigative experience with law enforcement, government, or military.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience as Accident Investigator/Reconstructionist.

Responsibilities

Proactively assist in reviewing vehicle accident, fatality, and DUI cases.
Provide expertise in the development of defense strategies and case theories.
Conduct field investigations including vehicle inspections, taking photos, videotaping, obtaining witness statements, and preparing diagrams.
Update attorneys on progress and recommendations for further preparation.
Interview witnesses and travel as needed; maintain records and documentation.
Interface with authorities and other investigators; manage equipment and software.
