Job summary

University of Minnesota Duluth seeks an innovative Assistant Director of Disability Resources to lead retention efforts and promote belonging for students with disabilities. You will supervise professional staff, engage with faculty and campus partners, and advance accommodations under ADA/504.

The role emphasizes strategic outreach, data-driven assessment, and cross-unit collaboration to improve student outcomes and campus inclusivity. This is a 0.8 FTE, 12-month, benefits-eligible appointment.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or master's degree with at least three years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities
  • 3 years of relevant experience in facilitating access for people with disabilities or working with students in higher education
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse communities and leadership capability
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Design evidence-driven retention and belonging initiatives
  • Cultivate campus alliances to maximize program impact
  • Lead outreach and mentoring, tutoring, and transition support
  • Utilize data and benchmarks to monitor and refine departmental goals
  • Oversee intake sessions and determine equitable accommodations under ADA/504 and related policies
  • Manage student records and longitudinal caseload data
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance inclusivity across the university
