Job summary

Central New Mexico Community College is seeking an hourly Accessibility Support Assistant to administer accommodations for students with disabilities and provide instructional support to students and faculty on accessibility.

The role involves creating accessible notes, formatting content, and assisting in testing, both on campus and remotely. Requires a high school diploma or GED and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides access to content in notes from lectures, boards, overheads, movies, videos and discussions as designated by student.
• Edits and formats class notes to provide best access to content for student needs and delivers notes per DRC policy.
• Provides visual support by reading books, handouts, board work, overheads and exams to students requiring audio content access.
• Types or writes student dictation; performs text typing to overcome student barriers.
• Operates peripheral computer equipment per student accommodation to address barriers.
• Supports students with disabilities in accessing college activities per DRC direction.
• Supports testing for students, on campus and virtually.
• Supports other accessibility related projects college wide.
• Employees comply with safety regulations and wear PPE if required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
