Job summary

Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is seeking an Accessibility Coordinator to lead accessibility and inclusion within the Education Department and Frick Environmental Center campus. The role oversees initiatives like Trackchair and the Assistive Resource Library, guiding staff, volunteers, and operations to enhance access and participation for diverse communities.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience serving diverse populations, including people with disabilities.
• Ability to build respectful working relationships with participants, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of the Trackchair Program, supervising the Trackchair Program Coordinator and supporting recruitment, training, and reservation systems.
• Develop and maintain accessibility practices, tools, and resources for inclusive programming initiatives.
• Collaborate to evaluate programs, facilities, trails, and visitor experiences for accessibility improvements.
• Advise staff and volunteers on accommodations, inclusive program design, and accessible logistics.
• Cultivate relationships with disability organizations and community partners to strengthen programming and outreach.
• Establish systems to collect feedback from visitors and partners to inform improvements.
• Oversee accessibility of the Outdoor Exploration and Assistive Resource Library and related resources.
• Document accessibility initiatives and outcomes with qualitative and quantitative measures and report progress.
• Support activation of the Outdoor Discovery Space, Sensory Nature Trail, and other accessible experiences.
