Job summary

Allyant is seeking an Accessibility Engineer to identify accessibility issues on websites, mobile apps, and other digital assets for our clients. You will audit sites and applications and QA test client fixes to ensure issues are resolved during remediation.

You will work within the Client Services team to fix issues in a way that is compliant and usable, pairing with a screen-reader auditor and addressing keyboard-only navigation and color-contrast concerns in a remote-friendly startup setting.

Qualifications

Job description

The Accessibility Engineer will be at the core of our day-to-day operations, identifying accessibility issues on websites, mobile applications, and other digital assets for our customers. In addition to auditing sites and applications, this role is responsible for QA testing client fixes, ensuring that clients are resolving accessibility issues during their remediation work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• As part of the Client Services team, identify issues with websites, mobile applications, and other digital assets for our customers.
• Assist with the 'artistry' of audits, helping our customers fix these issues in a way that is not only compliant but intuitive and usable.
• Complete client audits as a pair along with an assigned screen-reader auditor in identifying issues found within a website or app.
• Assist the screen-reader auditor in identifying other visual issues that may not be readily apparent.
• Handle the keyboard-only, color contrast and related accessibility issues.
• Other related tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• AA or Bachelor's degree (achieved or in progress), web development certification, or equivalent demonstrated work experience.
