Job summary

The University of North Georgia seeks an Accessibility Assistant Institutional Student Worker to support accessibility remediation for UNG Press titles on the Dahlonega campus. This role requires in-office hours at the Press office and reports to the Director and the Marketing and Content Manager.

You will perform checks on PDFs, slides, and Word documents, create alt text, format tables for accessibility, and ensure proper reading order and headings.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at UNG in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
• High school diploma/GED
• No prior experience is required, though coursework or some experience in English, editing, publishing, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run accessibility checks on PDFs, Slides, Word, and other documents.
• Write alt text for images.
• Format tables for accessibility.
• Apply and fix tags in different document formats.
• Ensure logical reading and heading structures.
