Job summary

OMES in Oklahoma City seeks an Accessibility and Content Editor to coordinate researching, writing and editing informational publications and training materials. The role emphasizes AP style, accuracy and accessibility, ensuring content meets 508 compliance and OMES branding standards.

The successful candidate will verify grammar, punctuation and factual content, and collaborate across teams to produce clear, accessible communications for the agency and public audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to edit for grammar, spelling, punctuation and AP style.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with researching, writing and editing informational publications and other materials.
  • Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation following AP Style guides.
  • Fact-check customer content for accuracy and tone.
  • Ensure documents are 508-compliant and aligned with OMES branding and audience readability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Posting Title Accessibility and Content Editor Agency 090 OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND ENTERPRISE SERV Supervisory Organization Outreach

As an Accessibility and Content Editor with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details: Full-time, 40-hour work weeks.

Salary is up to $52,500.00 based on education and experience.

Position is on-site in Oklahoma City, OK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assist with researching, writing and editing informational and educational publications, bulletins, powerpoints, pamphlets and other communication materials.
  • Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors following AP Style guides.
  • Fact-check customer content.
  • Ensure documents are 508-compliant, readable to the target audience and comply with OMES branding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or four (4) years of professional experience in journalism/copy editing with experience using remediation software, preferably CommonLook.
