Summary
  • The Access Training Specialist (ATS), with support/guidance from the Workforce Development Manager and Learning and Quality Specialists, will design, develop, deliver, and evaluate department-level training and job support materials in the Penn Medicine Access Center (PMAC). ATS staff will be responsible for conducting onboarding training, department cross-training, remediation training, and performance improvement training. They will ensure trainees meet learning goals and training timelines, maintain trainee performance records, participate in quality assurance programs, and provide phone support as directed.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver onboarding training for the Access Orientation Program (AOP) in assigned POD skills.
  • Coordinate training with Learning and Quality Specialists and PMAC Management to meet business needs.
  • Conduct cross-departmental training in various formats, including classroom, small group, and 1:1.
  • Create and maintain instructional materials adhering to Penn Medicine standards.
  • Ensure all training meets instructional standards, quality metrics, and supports business initiatives.
  • Maintain trainee performance records and communicate concerns and progress to relevant staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to share best practices and expertise.
  • Gain and maintain subject matter expertise in POD skills, technologies, and tools.
  • Attend departmental meetings and provide instruction when needed.
  • Conduct remediation training based on performance metrics and evaluations.
  • Provide phone support during peak hours and side-by-side training activities, exceeding performance standards.
  • Support variance file management and quality assurance evaluations as needed.
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 2+ years Healthcare experience in EPIC supporting patient scheduling AND training (Required)
  • OR Associate's degree with 1+ years Healthcare experience in EPIC supporting patient scheduling AND training (Preferred)
  • OR Bachelor's degree with 0-1 years Healthcare experience in EPIC supporting patient scheduling AND training (Preferred)
