Job Profile: Outreach Program Coordinator
The Access to Care Coordinator will lead Covering Wisconsin’s efforts to connect more Wisconsin residents to preventive healthcare providers and services, so that they may live healthier lives. This person will help assess, refine, and deepen existing Covering Wisconsin (CWI) approaches and activities with the aim of developing practices that are most effective and an efficient use of existing internal capacity and external opportunities. A regular component of the Access to Care Coordinator role will be meeting, virtually or in-person, with individuals and groups around Wisconsin to cultivate relationships and to provide informal and formal presentations about CWI and our health insurance and connection to care services. This position will also work with a partner agency, Center for Patient Partnerships, to enhance coordination and access to care intersection points given their focus on assistance for consumers with chronic conditions. This is a new position within CWI, funded by a grant award anticipated to continue through October2030.

While Division of Extension headquarters are located within Madison, WI, the position location is flexible and will be determined based on programmatic needs, successful candidate’s preferences, and availability of suitable space.
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Remote work requires an approved remote work agreement (RWA). A RWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee. This position has the possibility of working up to2 days remote per Extension's Remote Work Policy.
This position may be required to work occasional nights and weekends for things such as attending outreach events to meet the program needs and priorities of the communities served.
It is expected that employees will make individual arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions. As a vital piece of the Health & Well Being Institute, Covering Wisconsin (CWI) focuses on helping people with publicly available health insurance. The scope of our work including helping with enrolling, renewing, paying for, troubleshooting challenges with, and using coverage to access preventive and other beneficial care. CWI began in 2003 and has been a federally-designated health insurance Navigator entity since 2014. With a team of 20, CWI serves any resident of Wisconsin through a combination of funding from grants, contracts, and contributions. Our approach prioritizes education, assistance, and relationship-building and provides information and services in ways that are relevant, accessible, and easy to understand.
The minimum annual (12 months) starting Salary for the position is $60,795 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
