The successful candidate will strengthen academic access, credential attainment, and career readiness through mentoring, referrals, assistive technology integration, and collaboration with faculty and campus partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Special Education or related area from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a postsecondary educational setting providing teaching, counseling, or advising services to individuals with IDD.
  • 2+ years of experience using assistive technology to support IDD.
  • Experience with distance learning or alternate instructional delivery systems.

The Access to Achievement Specialist supports students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities ( IDD ) by coordinating programs, providing individualized advising and case management, and promoting inclusive campus engagement. The role strengthens academic access, credential attainment, and career readiness through mentoring, referrals, assistive technology integration, and collaboration with faculty and campus partners. It also manages key program operations- including workshops, data tracking, reporting, and the Summer Preparedness Program to ensure students have the resources, supports, and pathways needed for long-term educational and employment success.

Min Salary $51,292.31
Mid Salary $57,703.85- We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Special Education or related area from an institutional accredited post-secondary institution.

  • Master's degree in education, Special Education or a related field from an institutional accredited post-secondary institution.
Experience Required
  • Greater than three years of experience within a postsecondary institution with teaching, counseling, or advising individuals with IDD .
  • Greater than two years of experience with use of assistive technology for individuals with IDD .
  • Community College administrative and/or teaching experience.
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
Experience Preferred
KSA Required
  • Ability to plan, develop, and implement successful career pathways for students with IDD .
  • Adapt to changing procedures, protocols or assignments.
  • Create and maintain a learner centered environment that produces
  • Create and maintain a learner-centered environment that supports measurable skills gains and attainment of credentials, certificates, diplomas, and degrees, leading to successful transitions into postsecondary education, training, and employment.
  • Ability to effectively implement and apply technology solutions.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
KSA Preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in implementing best practices for adults with IDD including best practices in instruction, advising, and career services.
