Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in Cambridge, MA seeks a Security Assistant 2 to support Personnel Security operations. The role involves processing badging, coordinating security briefings, and assisting with classified visits, under the PERSEC team guidance.

Applicants should have a security-focused background, a degree in security or related field, and ability to maintain compliance in a high-security environment. Top Secret clearance capability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Security, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred.
• 6+ months to 1 year of relevant experience in industrial security, personnel security, or visitor management is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations of Draper’s Personnel Security for contractors and consultants, including all badging actions.
• Manage new hire and termination processes, including security briefings, badging and data entry.
• Responsible for all badging actions, paperwork, badge photos, printing and programming badges.
• Review and ensure compliance of the Background Investigation program for all contractors.
• Monitor expiring contracts and notify contractors of renewals, terminations and badge requests.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of Personnel Security for employees, contractors and consultants, including security briefings and related tasks.
• Complete incoming and outgoing classified visits in DISS or successor system with accuracy.
• Assist, collect, and review personal documents to establish identity and employment verification.
• Provide backup coverage for security receptionist: visitor check-in, badge issuance, documentation on file, questions, and visitor records using VMS.
