Job Summary

The Access Coordinator will contribute to the overall patient satisfaction by delivering exceptional customer service to patients, families, caregivers, providers, and the community during every interaction. The scheduling duties will involve coordinating and scheduling outpatient appointments and procedures for up to three (3) of the less complex divisions.

Essential Functions

• This position performs a variety of patient care activities, including accurate appointment scheduling and pre-registration to achieve first contact resolution and optimize patient flow.
• Collaborates with physician offices and clinical departments to coordinate services, prepare patients for their visit, and maintain all support processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong customer service experience.
• Possesses strong verbal communication skills including good voice quality, good diction, and articulation.
• Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills, uses independent thinking, and displays courtesy throughout the delivery of care.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Advanced scheduling/registration experience.
• Medical insurance experience.
• Call center experience.
• Knowledge of terminology used by insurance and managed care health plans.
• Knowledge of functions and relationships within a hospital environment.

Required Education

• High School Diploma / GED.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor's degree.
