Job summary

FlyLock Security Solutions - East Atlanta is seeking an Access Control Technician to install and service complex access and video systems for commercial and residential clients.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Access Control Technician position is an integral part of FlyLock Security Solutions and is key to the growth of the company. All Access Control Technicians must have the ability to work well in a high-paced working environment. The individual must work well as part of the team and independently from the FlyLock owner. The Access Control Technician position is a hands‑on technical position geared for an individual who has a technical mind‑set. Ideal candidates will have locksmithing knowledge and demonstrate the ability to learn new technical methods and techniques.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Minimum of 2 years' experience in technical hands‑on field experience in security solutions, access control, door hardware and other skilled trades. Inspects, installs and services all basic and complex commercial and residential access and video systems. Performs advanced, complex troubleshooting and repair (programming, cleaning detectors, testing controls and peripheral devices, mounting/replacing/testing equipment, running cable, etc.). Instructs customers on system operation and additional features. Responds to customer questions and requests. Recommends corrective services to resolve complaints. Diffuses difficult customer issues. Builds and maintains working relationships with sales staff. Defines scope of add‑ons/change orders, seeks customer approval, completes paperwork. Performs site visits with sales consultants. Owns projects from first walkthrough to final sign‑off and hand‑off to service. Maintains accurate inspection/service records. Acts as onsite project lead, overseeing lead technicians, technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors. Other duties as assigned.

Familiarity with systems such as: Access Control (Avigilon ACM, Linear Emerge3/50P, S2, Lenel Kantech, Honeywell WinPak, DSX, Maxxess Access, AMAG Symetry, Keyscan System7, Brivo, OpenPath); Credentials/Biometrics (HID, Aptiq, AWID, Suprema, BioConnect, MyIris, IrisID, LG Iris, Schlage, L1 Identity, NEDAP, TRES443/900 long‑range readers, object detection); CCTV (Exacq, Avigilon, Axis, Arecont, ACTi, Pelco, Hikvision, Dahua, LPR); Lock Hardware (HES, Rutherford, Schlage, Allegion, Assa, SDC Controls, lock retrofit kits, magnetic locks, electrified trim/crash bars/strikes/handsets, Schlage NDE); Networking (Netgear, D‑Link, Ubiquiti, fiber optics, SFP modules, fiber testing/termination); Wireless (Ubiquiti, Firetide, Fluid Mesh).

Physical Requirements

Must fluently understand, speak, and write English. Able to push/pull/lift at least 50 lbs. Able to kneel, crouch, and stoop. Able to reach above and below shoulders. Able to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull. Able to climb a ladder and work above ground. Able to withstand external weather conditions year‑round.
