Electronic access control systems, particularly proximity card-based systems such as Avigilon.
Locksmithing principles, including installation, re-keying, and maintaining traditional lock and key systems.
Surveillance camera systems, including IP and analog cameras, and video management systems.
Integration of security systems for seamless operation, particularly in large institutional settings.
Safety practices, codes, and regulations as related to the installation and maintenance of access control equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Proficiency in software and hardware related to access control and surveillance systems.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with staff and faculty.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve issues and ensure the safety and security of campus facilities.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed, including work orders in a CMMS such as TMA.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in emergency situations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to gather, compile, and analyze data/information and prepare reports.
Ability to read schematics and use hand and power tools.
Must have the ability to maintain the security and integrity of the critical infrastructure of Dallas College.
