Job summary

Reitman Personnel is seeking an Application Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize access control solutions. You will work with customers, integrators, and internal teams to ensure secure, scalable architectures across access control, video, intrusion, and identity management systems.

You will lead technical demonstrations, support pilots and PoCs, and translate customer needs into architecture diagrams, integration workflows, and deployment standards.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of access control, identity management and physical security systems.
• Experience with Windows Server environments, networking fundamentals, and system administration.
• Experience with SQL databases, queries and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON/XML data formats and integration workflows.
• Knowledge of video management or intrusion systems and PIAM platforms is a plus.
• Expertise with database systems such as Microsoft SQL and Postgres.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication for customer-facing work.
• Familiarity with security compliance concepts (e.g., credentials, NERC CIP).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical workshops with end-users and integrators to understand business processes.
• Design optimal system architectures for end customers.
• Validate third-party integrations and API usage.
• Develop architecture diagrams, integration workflows, and configuration standards.
• Support pilots, PoCs, and product demonstrations as the technical SME.
• Collaborate with sales on technical responses to RFPs and RFIs.
• Document configurations, test results, and deployment procedures for repeatable implementations.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to customers and partners.
