Job summary

Allied Universal, North America's leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer Access Control Operations in Richmond, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and assist visitors while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time role requires effective communication, reliability, and integrity. You will work daytime shifts in a technology-focused site and support security operations with a proactive, people-first approach.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct authorized individuals according to site policies.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, incidents, access-control exceptions, and suspicious activity in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting procedures.
