Job summary

VxL Enterprises is seeking a security-focused professional to control and monitor access at a secure government facility in Charlottesville, VA. You will verify identities, issue badges, and maintain accurate records while adhering to shift rotations and DoD procedures.

Responsibilities include access control, identity verification, sign-in management, and incident reporting. Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance, be a U.S. citizen, and meet physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 21+ years of age for contract.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications current or obtainable before start.
• Able to stand/walk/sit/stoop up to 12 hours.
• Eligible for a DoD CAC.
• Fluent in English and able to follow written rules.

Responsibilities

• Control personnel and equipment access at assigned posts.
• Perform face-to-face identity checks and verify clearances in government security systems.
• Issue visitor badges and process sign-ins.
• Inspect entries and exits and validate access forms.
• Maintain shift logs and brief incoming shifts.
• Inventory equipment and logs at shift change.
• Conduct roving security checks during the shift.
• Make emergency notifications per procedure.

Job description

Schedule: Full-time. Rotating shifts. Some locations operate 24/7/365, so shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift length and schedule are set by location.

About the role: Control and monitor who and what enters and leaves a secure government facility. Verify identity and clearances, inspect entries and exits, and keep accurate records.

Responsibilities:

· Control personnel and equipment access at assigned posts

· Run face-to-face identity checks and verify clearances using government security systems

· Issue visitor badges and process visitor sign-in

· Inspect entries and exits and validate access forms and markings

· Keep the shift log current and brief the incoming shift at each shift change

· Inventory equipment and logs at shift change

· Conduct roving security checks during the shift

· Make emergency notifications by procedure

· Report to post a few minutes early to support shift turnover

· Complete required security and annual training (scheduled off post, with relief coverage)

Minimum qualifications:

· U.S. citizenship

· Active TS/SCI clearance

· At least 21 years of age (contract requirement)

· High school diploma or equivalent

· At least 2 years of experience using personnel security systems such as DISS

· Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (or able to obtain before start)

· Able to walk, stand, sit, and stoop for up to 12 hours

· Fluent in English; able to understand and apply written rules and procedures

· Eligible for a DoD Common Access Card (CAC)

· Willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement and, if required, submit to a counterintelligence polygraph
